Vignettes & Collages

For this project, we had to create a collage with a spotlight effect using Photoshop. I made a collage advertisement for Bruce Springsteen, since he's one of my favorite artists. I got a few great photos of him and edited, feathered, and blended all the images to make them visually appealing.

Text Mask

This was one of the last Photoshop projects we did, but I like the way it turned out. After chosing a cool picture with contrasting colors, I used the Text Mask tool, typed "Venice Beach, California," and moved it to the bottom of the picture, where the sand contrasts with the sky-blue letters.

Add Some Pop

This is a picture of my friend Cassie and me from when I went to San Diego over Spring Break. I wanted to focus on our faces and blur the background, so to do this I framed our faces with the Marquee, tilted the frame, and eventually added the white stroke as a border. I darkened the bottom layer and did a radial blur, so that only our faces remained in color and in focus.

Color Selecting

This is another example of the fun things you can do with Photoshop. I found this cute picture of little girls on the beach and using Layers, Desaturation, and the Brush Tool, I was able to emphasize the bright colors of their bathing suits. To soften the final appearance, I added a filter and a blend.
